The most famous model of them all, the Gibson Les Paul debuted in 1952. Despite all the progress we’ve seen in the decades since, very little has changed with the iconic single-cut Les Paul over the years, aside from some minor tweaks here and there.

Gibson SG

Made famous by Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi and AC/DC’s Angus Young, not to mention Pete Townshend from the Who, the Gibson SG is a pure and simple rock machine. The unmistakable double-cut shape looks great in some of the more modern burst finishes, although the classic cherry SG is hard to beat. 

Gibson ES

As well as blues legend B.B. King and rock and roll pioneer Chuck Berry, you’ll also recognise the Gibson ES in the hands of Oasis songwriter and guitarist, Noel Gallagher. Available in a number of styles including the 335, 345 and 355, the semi-hollow body models deliver an acoustic woodiness and air to your tone, as well as screaming feedback when you turn up your amp. 

Gibson Flying V

Another instantly recognisable rock classic, the Gibson Flying V is one of the most distinctive guitars you can buy. Seen in the hands of icons such as Jimi Hendrix, Keith Richards and Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top, the Flying V is also loved by heavy metal heroes such as Metallica duo James Hatfield and Kirk Hammett, as well as Zakk Wylde and Dave Mustaine from Megadeth.
