To this day Ibanez continue to receive many requests to bring the model back, and so they've come up with the Ibanez RG2027XL 7-String Prestige RG Dark Tide Blue - a modern -specced answer to the prayers of many guitarists.

7 String RG Style Prestige Guitar
Made in Japan as part of the illustrious Prestine linup, the RG2027 was created with three principles in mind: Precision, Performance, and Playability.
Featuring a 27" scale neck that's perfect for down-tuning without compromising string tension, a fantastic Lo-Pro Edge 7 tremolo bridge, and a set of DiMarzio Fustion Edge pickups, the whole package is a perfect fit for the ultra-streamlined RG series.
DiMarzio Fusion Edge
Made especially for Ibanez by DiMarzio, the Fusion Edge 7 humbuckers in the RG2027XL produce a powerful, distinctive tone. Designed to throw out a crisp, cutting high-end, and a tight, compressed bottom end with no muddy mid-range, these pickups retain the articulation on your lower strings even when drop-tuned.
Further helping these pickups along is the 5-way selector switch, which not online allows you to choose the Neck or Bridge pickup individually, but also gives you the option of running the Neck humbucker in a Parallel sequence, Neck and Bridge together, and even Neck and Bridge together as Single Coils!

Being a member of the Ibanez Prestige lineup, the RG2027XL is built to impeccably high standards. The Bound Macassar Ebony fretboard, for instance, features a tight response and is a dream to play, especially when combined with the Prestige Fret Edge treatment.
