Designed especially for use on 5-string bass guitars, the EMG40JX-CS utilises a ceramic magnet with steel pole pieces, and offers a dynamic range that's closer to the feel and response of a passive pickup.
The tones generated by the EMG40JX-CS are similar to those of a J-bass single coil, only warmer with a smoother attack, and a deep, rich sound.
