Here we have the compact 18" 4-piece shell pack Club-Jam Pancake Drum Kit by Tama. Most probably the most compact transportable kits on the market that still sounds fantastic.
In Use
Considering the size and how it looks upon the first impression you would think that these are going to sound terrible and then you remember Tama built them, they pack a lot of punch, the toms are single-headed so as well as being easier to tune they have the big 80's vibe and project well.
The Kick Drum is double-headed so you have more of a regular feeling when playing it. being 4" depth you can roll up a towel and put in the drum for a powerful loud controlled thud or crank the front head and get all the shell tones.
Snare-wise, each drum is constructed with 100% poplar shells that guarantee a large range of tones, especially in the snare, which has a lot of body and one hell of a crack for its 12" diameter.
Packing Away
The shells are all shallow not exceeding 4" so are packable into 1 bass drum case/bag for simple transportation, heavy, but when in need you can catch public transport with these drums and not bother anyone
A fantastic option for the drummer who has multiple gigs on the same day, even as a home practice kit because of its size it doesn't take up much room at all.
