Yamaha APX Series
Seeing the difficulties musicians had when bringing acoustic instruments to the stage, Yamaha set about designing a new type of electro-acoustic guitar.
At this point, it was extremely difficult to play an acoustic instrument live and loud on stage. You would either have to deal with a lot of unwanted feedback or lengthy soundchecks and restrictive mic placements.
Hitting the scene in 1987, the Yamaha APX series finale gave gigging musicians a viable acoustic option on stage.

The Yamaha APX 600 also uses a new bracing system, increasing bass response, giving you even fuller tone.
The body itself has a slimmer profile, making it more comfortable and easier to play. It also features a cutaway which allows for easy reach of the upper frets; essential for solos and lead guitar licks.
For enhanced playability and comfort, the Yamaha APX600 Flame Maple Top has a 25” scale length and narrower string spacing. These features are particularly convenient for new players but certainly add to the comfort of more seasoned guitarists.
Stage-Focused Electronics
One of the best features the Yamaha APX 600 has to offer is its stage-focused electronics.
Fitted with a SYSTEM65 preamp and an SRT piezo pickup, the Yamaha APX600FM is ready to be plugged-in and played live and loud.
The built-in tuner allows you to conveniently tune your strings whenever you need, without having to bring along a separate tuner.
3-band EQ is also on hand so you can individually adjust the bass, middle and treble frequencies while a Mid FQ allows for further tonal shaping.
You’ll also find a volume control so you can easily adjust your level on the fly and turn down between songs.
